BRIAN SCOTT

A Boise racer who advanced from two wheels to all three NASCAR national series.

Idaho beginnings

Brian Joseph Scott was born January 12, 1988, in Boise, Idaho. He started competing on motorcycles at a young age, then moved into karting and stock cars as his racing ambitions grew.

Scott reached NASCAR's national stage in 2007. The following season he joined Xpress Motorsports for a full NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series campaign in the No. 16 Chevrolet, the team and season represented by the original website.

Moving through NASCAR

His first national-series win came at Dover in 2009. He later raced full-time in the Xfinity Series for Braun Racing, Joe Gibbs Racing and Richard Childress Racing, earning five poles, 20 top-five finishes and 77 top-10 results across 208 starts.

Scott moved to Richard Petty Motorsports for a full Sprint Cup season in 2016. A second-place finish at Talladega became his best premier-series result. He stepped away from full-time competition after that season to focus on his family.
