Scott Takes Short Route to Daytona Truck Series Season Opener

Brian Scott arrived at Daytona ready to begin his first full NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series season.

NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series driver Brian Scott had always hoped to perform on racing's biggest stage. At 20 years old, the Boise, Idaho native was set to pilot the No. 16 Shark Energy Drink and Albertsons Chevrolet for Xpress Motorsports.

Scott entered the season after seven Truck Series starts in late 2007, including top-15 finishes at Martinsville and Homestead-Miami. His background already included years of motorcycle, karting and stock-car competition.

“I just need to learn and be smart. If I can do that, I think we can finish in the top 10. That's the goal.”

The two-time championship-winning Xpress organization gave the rookie an experienced group led by crew chief Dave Fuge. The Daytona event opened a season designed to build Scott's knowledge on the sport's national stage.
